PROSES PERTOLONGAN PERSALINAN DULU DAN SEKARANG

Sejak tahun 1980, penggunaan EFM telah tumbuh secara dramatis, dari yang digunakan pada 45% wanita hamil hingga 85% pada tahun 2002, Meskipun EFM adalah prosedur kebidanan yang paling umum, sayangnya hal ini belum mengurangi kematian perinatal atau risiko cerebral palsy. Bahkan, tingkat cerebral palsy tetap sama sejak Perang Dunia II walaupun pemantauan janin dan semua kemajuan kami dalam perawatan dan intervensi. ”

Di revisi lain ACOG, mereka menyatakan bahwa induksi elektif sebaiknya tidak dilakukan sebelum usia kehamilan 39 minggu, dan dokter yang mampu melakukan operasi caesar yang harus siap tersedia setiap waktu induksi digunakan jika induksi tidak berhasil ketika melahirkan melalui vagina.

Demikianlah sejarah persalinan di Amerika. Tentu saja beda lagia dengan sejarah kebidanan di Indonesia. Namun dari sejarah ini kita bisa tahu bagaimana perkembangannya.
